CHORUS MANAGEMENT TEAM

Pam Murray: Team Coordinator - Pam became a Sweet Adeline in 2016, joining the San Diego Chorus as a baritone. She has been singing and performing in various singing groups and musical theater since the age of 4. Pam graduated from UCSD with a major in Drama and a minor in Music, Vocal Performance. With over a 30 year background in corporate leadership, global supply chain, procurement, contracting and entertainment management, she is putting those skills to work in Sweet Adelines. Pam also plays guitar and sings baritone in So Noted Quartet.

Kathleen Hansen:  Master Director - Kathleen joined the San Diego Chapter of Sweet Adelines in 2000, making history in the International Chorus Competition by doing handsprings across the Portland Rose Arena stage and helping propel San Diego to a gold medal.  Introduced to barbershop by watching top-level quartets and choruses, Kathleen has since rooted her experiences with Sweet Adelines in elevated expectations that are reflected in her drive to challenge the chorus and herself for the highest quality performance.  This talented baritone was quickly pulled into featured roles and leadership positions.  In 2015, she was awarded Master Director status after directing the San Diego Chorus on the International stage, and she has directed the chorus to first place in subsequent Regional competitions.  In 2004, her quartet Last Call won the women's barbershop category in the Buckeye Invitational. Kathleen's origins are in musical education.  She earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a specialization in trumpet, a Master's of Music in Instrumental Conducting, and a teaching credential for secondary education in music from San Diego State University. Recently, she was honored to join the Sweet Adelines International Faculty in a 3-year teaching appointment. Sweet Adeline of the Year 2013.

Sharee Markiewicz:  Directing Team/CMT Secretary - Sharee first joined Sweet Adelines in 1985, singing baritone in the Elkridge Chorus (now the Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus) through 1990. After taking a break to raise her family, she joined the San Diego Chorus in 2014, and currently sings bass. She played flute and piccolo in marching and concert bands throughout high school, plays a little tin whistle and Irish flute, and has sung in many choirs/choruses over the years. She recently enrolled in the Director’s Certification Program (DCP).  She loves to sing in quartets and small groups in addition to singing with the chorus.

Debra Rasnick:  Directing Team/CMT Business Development Chair - Debra joined Sweet Adelines in 2016 singing baritone. She first sang with the Virginia Coast Chorus in VA and when transferred to San Diego, joined the San Diego Chorus. Debra also sings with Jukebox Quartet, recipient of the Region 21 Quartet Novice Award in 2018. Debra has always loved music participating in All State Band and All State Chorus in high school. Debra has a BA in Music Education K through 12. Debra just loves to sing, share and learn through this organization.

Cindy McAdams:  CMT Finance Chair - Cindy joined the San Diego Chorus in 2010 as a new Sweet Adeline. Her background in banking, her family’s retail stores and her own business are where she learned Quickbooks and other business skills needed to be Finance Chair. She served as Business Development Chair in 2012, then learned Finale to help transcribe chorus repertoire. She loves numbers, so spreadsheets and Quickbooks are just as easy as sight-reading music for her.  She learned piano as a toddler and played many other instruments in middle and high school. She played flute and piccolo in various bands including field, parade, pep, jazz, concert and county honor bands. She also accompanied her soloist peers on piano. Cindy loves to perform singing bass in the chorus, with Jukebox Quartet and in small groups.

Melissa Galanty:  Events Chair - Melissa became a Sweet Adeline in 2013 when she joined the San Diego Chorus. Her previous musical experience includes singing in children's choirs, musical theatre summer programs, classical choir, concert choir and chamber singers. After completing grad school, Melissa switched gears and took several years of ballet classes. Now she gets to combine singing and dancing as a Sweet Adeline. Who can ask for anything more? Melissa is a School Psychologist and sings lead in the San Diego Chorus.

Diane Thornewell:  Membership Chair – Diane joined Sweet Adelines in 1993, singing lead and then bass in the Potomac Harmony Chorus in Arlington, VA. Diane worked as a Contracting Officer for the Department of the Navy, was transferred to San Diego and joined the San Diego Chorus in 1997, where she sings lead. Diane has been very active in chorus administration in both of her choruses, having served as Secretary for Potomac Harmony and as Secretary, Finance Chair and Membership Chair for SDSA. She has served in chorus administration for over 18 of the 25 years she has been in Sweet Adelines.
